What ROAS do you actually need?

A 3× ROAS is profitable for one brand and loss-making for another. Put in your price and your costs, and see the line your ads have to clear before you make a rupee.

What a customer pays for a typical order, before any discount.

Since 22 September 2025 most goods are 5% or 18%; gold and silver jewellery is 3%. Use the rate on your invoices.

Across all orders, as a % of the selling price. 0 if you rarely discount.

What the order costs you to make or buy, packed and ready to ship.

Courier, packing labour, warehouse fee — whatever you pay per shipped order.

As a % of the amount paid, including the GST on the fee. 2.36% is a 2% fee plus 18% GST — check your own statement.

Returns plus COD orders refused at the door, as a % of orders placed.

Optional. Blank assumes you pay shipping both ways and the product goes back on sale.

How it works

  1. Revenue you keep = price after discount, with GST taken out.
  2. Left from a delivered order = revenue kept − product and packaging − shipping − the gateway fee.
  3. Returns are averaged in: a returned order earns nothing and costs its return loss.
  4. Break-even ROAS = what the customer paid ÷ what is left per order. Below it, every order costs more in ads than it leaves you.
