Where is your brand leaking money?

Twenty-five yes-or-no statements: the same things we check first in every audit. Answer for how the business is today, not how you plan it to be.

  1. 1 Your numbers

If these are wrong, every decision below is too

    • I know my real cost to acquire a customer after discounts, coupons and free shipping — not the number the ad platform shows.
    • I know my contribution margin per order, after product cost, shipping, payment fees and returns.
    • I know roughly what a customer is worth over 6–12 months — how often they come back, and what that is worth in margin.
    • The revenue my ad dashboards report roughly matches what landed in the bank last month.
    • I can name the one channel that would hurt most if it stopped working tomorrow.
  2. 2 Pricing & offer

The cheapest growth lever you have

    • My price was set from margin and positioning — not by matching the cheapest competitor.
    • I know how much revenue I give away in discounts every month, as a number.
    • Customers have a reason to buy now that is not a discount.
    • My best-selling product is also one of my most profitable ones.
    • I have tested a price increase, a bundle or a bigger pack size in the last 12 months.
  3. 3 Creative & message

Moves cost per sale more than any bid

    • A stranger can tell what I sell, and why it is different, within three seconds of my ad.
    • Every live campaign gets fresh creative at least every two weeks.
    • I know which angle is working — the reason to buy — not just which individual ad.
    • My ads answer the top three objections people raise in DMs, comments and reviews.
    • Tired ads are switched off on a schedule, before costs start climbing — not after.
  4. 4 Website & checkout

    Where paid traffic quietly dies

    • My product page loads in under three seconds on a mid-range phone on mobile data.
    • Price, delivery time and the returns policy are visible without scrolling.
    • I know at which step people drop off between the product page and a completed payment.
    • Purchase tracking fires once per order — no double counting, no missing orders.
    • Every payment method my customers expect is there — UPI, cards, and COD if my category needs it.
  5. 5 Offline, retention & systems

What a purely digital plan misses

    • I have a plan for at least one offline channel — retail, events, distributors, or deliberate word of mouth.
    • Past customers hear from me at least once a month, on WhatsApp, email or SMS.
    • Comments, DMs and reviews get a reply within one working day — someone owns that job.
    • Each number in section 1 has an owner other than me, with a written target (a KPI).
    • The decisions I make every week have a written rule (an SOP), so they no longer need me in the room.

How it works

  1. The statements are the Growth Leak Checklist, word for word, in five sections of five.
  2. Each “yes” is a tick. Every “no” is a leak.
  3. If any of section 1 (your numbers) is a “no”, that is where to start: without honest numbers you cannot tell whether a fix anywhere else worked. Otherwise, start with the section with the fewest ticks.
